I have never seen this set before. Fairly opaque set for watercolours. And very typically quirky as all the Kremer sets are. They curate their colours to a different standard than most other brands, maybe because they are a principle ‘colourman’ type company, more interested in the pigments. Interesting set for the predominance of cadmiums and cobalts. Thanks for bringing us this set. I love Kremer and had no idea it existed. Maybe it is more a modern conservators set really. Still lovely colours though, but maybe not ones we would wish to get to a mass market.
Thank you! 😊
And I forgot - beautifully painted swatch card. Thank you!
Thank you! 😊
Very useful, thank you so much 😊
What a beautiful palette! However, I would say it ISN'T a very modern palette at all. Not with all those cadmiums - but look at that ultramarine, and that Paris Blue! And the cobalt turquoise....OMG!
Right?! The weirdest choice knowing how many new, synthetic pigments are out there, all the Pyrrols and Quinacridones are weeping in the corner.
This brand is used for retouching historical paintings in museums. May be one reason they keep traditional paints?
That was my first thought, but then I think the modern take is that it’s a mixing palette, there are no earths or neutrals? Beautiful colours. But I hardly ever use cadmiums so not for me.
omg!!! kamusta? trip nyo ba? may mixing chart po ba kayo nitong set? curious lang sa possible mixes kasi kakaiba yung selection 👀
I only had swatches. I don't usually do color mixes 😁. Ok ung selection of colors on my food illustrations. 👍
I feel like this should be a Chinese inspired watercolor set with how opaque the paints are.
maybe they need more water to be thinned down? Really good paints have a lot of pigment which can make them look like they are thick with binders, when actually they are high quality (I suspect this because I know that these paints are used by museums to touch up famous paintings)
@@paintingtheskykingdom9005 Some paint are just really opaque in mass tone. They are probably still beautiful thinned out but even in oils, these pigments are usually fairly if not completely opaque.
Cadmium and cobalt paints are more opaque by nature. They are also toxic, that's why many watercolourists try to avoid them. But they do have beautiful and strong colours.
These are very different but beautiful colors, but in my opinion you don’t use enough water, you swatch the paints too dry and these don’t spread much anyway,it’s not very gradual
Thanks. Yup I thought so as well. Thanks for that. 👍
do you know if they use honey as a binder?
Hi, I haven't had the complete info of the product but they have watercolor mediums that has honey and glycerin but we can't assume unless stated that their watercolor pans had honey as binder. I had to look into their site before and haven't found any. I also asked them about it. Will let you know if I received any updates from them. 👍
Hi, got a response from Kremer Pigment Inc. and they don't use honey as a binder but use a little of it as preservative and for better paint handling. 👍
@@christianorbegoso2820 Oh wow, thank you, I just know so far I have noticed that I like paints that contain some honey (I don't know what it is for) so that is great to know that they contain it!)
@@paintingtheskykingdom9005 Hmmm. I assumed you've had sennelier then 😁. 👍
@@christianorbegoso2820 yes that was the first honey-containing one I used and I sure wish I could afford all their colors. They do miss some specialty colors. I just got a 24 tube 7 ml set of mission gold because they are selling them at about half price on Amazon because they are an older set (and contain more multiple pigment colors, which their newer set does not). Also, I recently found out that the online store called Cheap Joe's has a brand called American Journey that contains honey (I bought two tubes and they seem good, and are probably the best price of honey containing watercolor's I have yet found). I also bought 3 pans of Roman Szmal from Jackson's art supply which contains honey (they are very granulating, at least the 3 colors I got. I think St. Petersburg Russian watercolor also contains honey, I have not tried it. (Probably too much info, but I love watercolor) The American Journey Brand may turn into a favorite, depending on what I find with other colors, because they carry a lot of specialty colors, and I already have the basic colors.
I’ve tried twice now to order from Kremer and they never get back to me about shipping. I’ve tried both the European and US sites
Sorry to hear that. Hope they'll get back to you soon. 👍
@@christianorbegoso2820 Seeing as it has been nearly 3 months since the last attempted order, I doubt it. When I can get back to NYC I will go there first
@@eileenreillyarts1229 😔 Hope you'll had a chance to get in touch with them. Have a good day and stay safe. 👍
